We had the germ of an idea to revamp our ground floor, but had no idea how to make it happen. For once the algorithms played a blinder and I started following Otta on Instagram and felt that they might be the team for us, and so it proved.

We were struck by the professionalism Alex, Ali and Hannah demonstrated at every phase of the project. They gave us the confidence to explore colours, textures and fittings which we might not otherwise have chosen, because they really listened and got what we were hoping to achieve. There were a couple of leaps of faith along the way which were gently encouraged but never forced and were absolutely spot on once executed. There were also compromises, usually because of budget constraints, which allowed the overall aesthetic to be maintained without the feeling that shortcuts were being taken.

The Otta contact list was another major revelation, everyone we dealt with from builders, decorators to picture hangers was brilliant. We could get involved as much or as little as we wanted and enjoyed the visits to suppliers to fine tune designs.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Otta, they have made our home feel special and we feel so lucky to have had such a positive experience with them.

Right from the start of our work with Ali and Alex we knew we were in safe but talented hands. They have transformed our dreary little flat into exactly what we wanted: a beautiful, comfortable and practical pied-à-terre. The team has been so responsive throughout with no dips in energy or enthusiasm for our project.  Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to take on board our suggestions whilst offering loads of creative design ideas and sourcing innovative pieces we would never have found by ourselves.  They have a great sense of texture and colour, and managed to get us out of our comfort zone by giving our spaces some modern zest but with a traditional feel. The team also has an address book of excellent builders and craftspeople. Always good humoured and happy to accommodate our availability, the Ottas were a joy to work with. Special mention for the brilliantly efficient Hannah who manages the office.

We were very fortunate to be recommended Otta Design to completely refurbish our home. Alex and Ali are charming, professional and friendly but what most impressed us was that they took the time to really listen and understand what we wanted. Prior to work commencing, they visited at least twice and explained clearly their working practice and price guides. They were totally engaged with the project, with regular emails, texts and site visits and always responded quickly to queries or requests. Alex certainly drove our project forward! We commissioned Otta Design to design and furnish our Barbican flat. We were struck at the outset by their distinct style: stylish yet colourful and interesting and, importantly for us, somewhere that could feel like home. Ali and Alex ‘got’ the brief quickly and their proposals were on point and within budget.  When we inevitably didn’t take to something, they were quick to suggest alternatives.  Importantly, we found the whole team to be responsive, honest and willing to go the extra mile. We couldn’t be more pleased with both the process and the outcome.

We had lived in our house for over 30 years when a serious fire occurred, meaning that the entire house needed to be gutted. The enormity of the task, coupled with dealing with the shock and sadness of events, led us to enlist the help of Otta Design. We felt in safe hands as we knew they had undertaken similar large-scale projects before, and the small, personal set up of the team suited us well. Alex and Ali were incredibly supportive, sensitive and dedicated throughout the two-year project. They cleverly interpreted our wishes through the design whilst also co-ordinating everything, which removed an immeasurable layer of admin, time and stress.  We now have our family home back, just better than before, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the end result and with Otta Design’s valuable input.

We chose Ali and Alex due to their focus on combining colour and pattern, and we absolutely loved working with them. They made the process of transforming our home a pleasure. Their attention to detail on everything from bathrooms to plug sockets, and of course the planning and project management, made our lives so much easier. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Ali and Alex to achieve our dream home. We love our house and how it feels and embodies our spirit. We had the pleasure of working with Otta Design for a full refurbishment of our house. What was clear from the outset was that they are very accommodating to the client’s requirements and once the objectives are clear, they put forward a very detailed concept for the project. We were so pleased that many of their ideas were things we would not have attempted on our own, but very much reflected our taste. We loved working with Ali and Alex on the refurbishment of our home. This was the first time we had worked with an interior designer and we could not have hoped for a more positive experience. We had moved into the house a couple of years earlier and whilst we loved it, it felt tired and lacked colour and personality.
