Brief
No longer meeting their needs, this Edwardian London home needed to evolve to bolster our clients’ lifestyles rather than hindering them, and we were tasked with reimagining the space for the next phase of family life.
Design
Playing with colour intensity and pattern, we tailored this home to each individual, setting the tone with the vivid Roger Oates x A Rum Fellow stair runner in the hallway. An overly large bathroom for the size of the house was reconfigured to create a shower room and a separate study. We sourced antiques, vintage textiles and embroidered artworks from our trusted dealers to add patina and bring depth and richness. We designed and commissioned bespoke joinery to create elegant storage and clever moments within the spatial planning, such as a neat reading nook in a long, narrow teenager’s bedroom, a handsome walnut desk with brass detailing in the study and hidden storage. The project is elevated by considered materials and finishes to withstand the daily rigours of a busy family home.
Client
A family with two teenage daughters who had explored the option of moving but decided, instead, to update their existing home.
