With a wonderful collection of family artwork to display, our clients asked for our help in redesigning the ground floor layout of this large semi-detached house in Wandsworth. Despite the size of the house, the hallway was narrow and cramped – the staircase was moved and an over-sized tessellated floor installed to create impact. The wall was removed between the downstairs reception rooms and a calm neutral scheme of soft earthy tones with accents of red, creates a perfect foil for the stunning artwork. Crittal sliding pocket doors were colour matched to the joinery that frames the archway into the kitchen, allowing light to flood into the rear of the reception room. With a busy sporting family and a large dog, our clients were keen to create a space on the ground floor to hide everything. A large boot room was created with fitted joinery and plenty of storage with a smart downstairs cloakroom for guests.
