We were approached by our clients after they purchased the house they had been renting moments from Clapham Common. A vision of magnolia, it lacked any interest or soul and didn’t in any way reflect their love of life and travel. We were tasked with making it feel like a home. Rather than replacing the kitchen units, which were in good condition, we added a statement chequerboard limestone floor, changed the splashback to antique glass and designed a banquette seating area for family entertaining. Not afraid of colour, our clients loved the idea of adding new aubergine doors to the kitchen island. The existing bathrooms were ripped out – out with the grey large format tiles, and in with a mix of interesting finishes, colours and wallpaper, resulting in two of our favourite rooms in the house. We design our homes to reflect the individual style and personalities of our clients, and this project does this in bucket loads.
